To enter Mexico, you must have a Mexican visa or if your country has an immigration agreement with Mexico a valid passport.

American, Canadian and EU citizens must have a valid passport which allows them to enter Mexico. Russian citizens must have either electronic visas or a long-term visa issued by the Mexican consulate. This applies to children, toddlers, and infants. Upon arrival, all tourists must fill out an immigration form which should be returned when flying back.

Mexican law requires that children under 18 years of age must travel with the consent of both parents. If a minor is traveling with only one parent, that parent must hold a notarized letter of consent from the absent legal parent. Failure to comply will result in denied boarding. Before travelling please check with the Mexican consulate in your country all the requirements regarding entry to Mexico.

At the airport you can hire a cab, a shuttle, or take a bus to your final destination. If you need a transfer, please let us know in advance and we will organize it for you. Quintana Roo has an efficient system of bus routes called ADO. Please check the schedule online.

Local currency is Mexican Peso, even though many places accept American Dollars. Travel cheques are not widely accepted. However, you can find ATM machines at any bank. There are local Mexican banks (BBVA Bancomer, Banamex, Banorte, Inbursa, etc.), as well as international ones (ScotiaBank, HSBC etc.) Per recent regulation, you will be asked for a valid ID to change currency.

Most of the banks are closed on the weekends. Working hours may differ but banks generally close at around 5pm.
